The WebCHIP Interface

When you first open WebCHIP, you see a description of the dataset, including the dataset name, the variables in the dataset, and the number of categories within each variable. You operate WebCHIP with the buttons along the top of the window, and your tables are displayed in the large text box in the middle of the screen.

This dataset, titled "POPUSA2K," allows you to explore the racial composition of recent immigrants, the age distribution of those who have come to the United States, and different rates of immigration among gender groups. A simple glance at the title of the dataset and its variables will generate numerous questions that can then be thoroughly investigated.
