Use A Control Variable

  1. Open the dataset is in WebCHIP 2.0.
  2. Before a control variable can be employed, a row variable and a column variable must be selected by creating a crosstabulation.
  3. Now, select Table > Control
  4. A box will appear where you can select a control variable.  Click OK.

  1. WebCHIP will output the control variable.
  2. A table must be created (frequency, percent across or percent down) to employ the control variable.

  1. Whichever table you choose, WebCHIP will output multiple tables (one per category of the control variable).  You will need to use the scrollbars to see all of your data.
  2. More than one control variable can be set, just repeat the process.  Multiple tables will still appear, one for each control category.
  3. To change control variables or eliminate a control variable, select Table > Release.
