Create a Percent Down or Percent Across Table

  1. Open the dataset in WebCHIP 2.0.
  2. Select Command > Crosstab
  3. A box will appear where you can select a row variable.  Click OK.

3. Select a row variable and click OK.

  1. Another box will appear when you can select a column variable.  Click OK.
  2. WebCHIP will output the row/column variable.

4. Select a column variable and click OK.

  1. Select Table > Percent Across
  2. A table will appear with a percent breakdown and the data is read across the rows (i.e. each row adds up to 100%).  For example: With race as the row variable and gender as the column variable, one can discover what percent of whites are males and females.

  1. Select Table > Percent Down
  2. A table will appear with a percent breakdown and the data is read down the columns (i.e. each column adds up to 100%).  For example: With race as the row variable and gender as the column variable, one can discover what percent of males in the sample are white, black or asian.

8. Select Table > Percent Down
