How to use DataCounts!

What's Where

As was mentioned before, there are five main sections to DataCounts! Below are descriptions of each one:

HOW TO: The HOW TO section, which you are currently in, contains tutorials and frequently asked questions, everything you need to get started using the DataCounts! website.

DATA: This section is where you go to launch the WebCHIP application to access and manipulate your datasets. A more detailed tour of this part of the site can be found in the next step of this tutorial.

MODULES: As the name suggests, this section houses teaching modules that have been created by teachers across the country in order to incorporate social science statistics into the classroom setting. Each module contains links to the DataSets used, as well as instructions in HTML, PDF, and DOC format. The modules are arranged both alphabetically by author and by subject for your browsing pleasure.

ABOUT: The about section contains more detailed information about DataCounts!, WebCHIP, the Census in the Classroom project, and the Social Science Data Analysis Network.

GLOSSARY: The glossary contains definitions of all the datasets that found here on DataCounts! The are arranged alphabetically by dataset, and can be viewed by specific data collection as well.
