DataCounts! Terminology

Below are the definitions for commonly used words and phrases on the DataCounts!site:

WebCHIP - An online application that DataCounts! uses to allow you to access and manipulate data.

DataSet - A set of data pertaining to a specific topic. Datasets have abbreviated names that end in .dat, for example earn9.dat or asnhpov2k.dat.

Collection - A collection of individual datasets. Examples of collections are Cen1990 (the 1990 Census), GSS (the General Social Survey), and CPS04 (the Current Population Survey for 2004).

Module - A classroom exercise utilizing DataCounts! technology and materials.
